Why GamingRift exists
Most tier lists for live-service games get published the day a patch drops, before anyone has actually played the new numbers. GamingRift waits until a build has been run under real conditions — the actual rotation, the actual gear, the actual fight — before it earns a rank. When a patch shifts the meta, we retest rather than leave a stale S-tier sitting at the top.
How we test
- Real conditions, not theorycraft. Every build is played through, not just calculated on paper — rotations, gear thresholds and matchup behavior are checked in-game.
- Cross-checked against community consensus. A build doesn't get called S-tier just because it tested well once; we compare against what top players and the wider community are actually running before publishing a verdict.
- Re-tested on every meta-relevant patch. A ranking is a snapshot of a specific patch, labeled as such — we go back and update it when balance changes actually move the meta, rather than leaving it to rot.
- No filler. If a build, weapon or character doesn't have enough real substance to say something useful about it, it doesn't get an article.

The site is funded through display advertising and affiliate partnerships — where a link is affiliate, it's disclosed.
