Camellya is the reference AoE main DPS in Wuthering Waves — a Havoc sword unit whose entire kit revolves around cycling between Blossom Mode and Budding Mode to unload an unusually large share of her damage through basic attacks rather than skills. Our own resonator tier list already placed her in SS tier as "the undisputed reference for AoE damage" — this is the full build behind that ranking.

Build overview

The single most important fact about Camellya's kit: roughly 80% of her total damage comes from Basic Attack DMG, not from her Resonance Skill or Liberation numbers directly. That reshapes every stat and echo decision below — a Camellya built like a generic crit-stacker, ignoring Basic Attack DMG substats, will underperform badly compared to one built around her actual damage source. Her core loop is entering Blossom Mode through her Resonance Skill, building Concerto Energy through basic attacks, then popping into the higher-damage Budding Mode to consume Crimson Buds with enhanced attacks before cycling out.

Stat priorities

Stat Priority Notes
Crit Rate / Crit DMG 1 Balance the two to hit a workable Crit Value ratio rather than maxing one
Basic Attack DMG Bonus 2 Directly amplifies the ~80% of her kit that comes from basic attacks
ATK% 3 Scales everything else
Havoc DMG Bonus High (4-cost main stat) Main-stat slot on the 4-cost echo
Energy Regeneration Avoid stacking Explicitly called out as low priority — don't chase ER substats on her echoes

Community-cited farming targets commonly land around 70% Crit Rate and 250% Crit DMG, alongside 2000+ ATK, but treat these as directional goals rather than hard requirements — they represent a well-invested account, not a minimum bar to clear content.

Echo build

The standard Camellya build runs a full 5-piece Sun-sinking Eclipse set for maximum Havoc DMG output, with either Crownless or its upgraded Nightmare: Crownless as the main echo on the 4-cost slot — both amplify Havoc damage, with the Nightmare version simply hitting harder once unlocked.

Slot Main stat Substat priority
4-cost (Crownless / Nightmare: Crownless) Havoc DMG Crit Rate / Crit DMG
3-cost (x2) Havoc DMG Crit Rate / Crit DMG, then Basic Attack DMG
1-cost (x2) ATK% Basic Attack DMG, ATK%

Weapons, ranked

Weapon Access Notes
Red Spring Signature (limited banner) Best-in-slot, built directly around her Basic Attack DMG scaling
Emerald of Genesis Standard 5-star Boosts energy regen and grants an ATK increase on Resonance Liberation — a strong non-signature pick
Blazing Brilliance Standard 5-star Competitive alternative to Emerald of Genesis
Somnoire Anchor Event reward Stacking ATK bonus over the course of a fight, fully F2P-accessible
Sword of Night Battle Pass / accessible 4-star Cited as her best full F2P option

Rotation

Camellya's rotation is built around cycling her two forms rather than a fixed skill string: open with her Resonance Skill to enter Blossom Mode, then chain Basic Attacks to build up Concerto Energy. Once energy is maxed, use Ephemeral to transition into Budding Mode — her higher-damage state — and spend it consuming Crimson Buds with enhanced attacks. Exit back out through her Resonance Skill and repeat the loop. Community skill-priority breakdowns generally agree her Resonance Skill and Forte Circuit carry the heaviest weight in this loop, though sources differ on whether Resonance Liberation or Basic Attack chains should be weighted second — treat that as a matter of adapting to the specific fight (single target vs. AoE) rather than a fixed rule.

  • Camellya + Roccia + Shorekeeper — the premium comp: Roccia adds sub-DPS pressure and Shorekeeper covers healing and universal buffing.
  • Camellya + Sanhua + Baizhi — a fully F2P-friendly alternative built around basic attack buffs and accessible healing.
  • Camellya + Lynae + Mornye — a more modern pairing that stays relevant for current end-game content without requiring her full premium team.

Common mistakes

  • Stacking Energy Regeneration substats. It's explicitly one of the lowest-priority stats on her echoes — ER on Camellya is close to wasted rolls, unlike most other main DPS units.
  • Building her like a standard crit-stacker. Ignoring Basic Attack DMG Bonus in favor of pure Crit Rate/DMG substats throws away a large chunk of her actual damage output, since basic attacks carry most of her kit.
  • Breaking the Blossom → Budding cycle early. Popping out of Budding Mode before consuming your Crimson Buds, or re-entering Blossom Mode before Concerto Energy is ready, loses damage compared to running the full loop each time.
Do I need Red Spring, her signature weapon?

No — it's the clear best-in-slot, but Emerald of Genesis and Blazing Brilliance are both cited as strong non-signature 5-star alternatives, and Sword of Night is a genuinely playable F2P option.

Is Camellya easier to build F2P than Jinhsi?

Generally yes — her rotation is more forgiving since it's built around form-cycling rather than tight energy timing, and her F2P weapon and team options (Sanhua + Baizhi) are more accessible than Jinhsi's comparable F2P setup.

How strict is the 70% Crit Rate / 250% Crit DMG target?

Treat it as a farming goal for a well-invested build, not a hard requirement — Basic Attack DMG Bonus and Havoc DMG Bonus matter enough on her kit that a slightly lower crit ratio with better substat coverage elsewhere is still a fully functional build.
